The Essence Music Festival, known as “the party with a purpose,” is the nation’s largest annual African-American event and gathering of musical talent in the world. This multigenerational Festival offers more that 50 acts at night and free Empowerment Seminars during the day. The nightly concerts present Festivalgoers with the opportunity to dance and sing along with the biggest names in entertainment, rhythm and blues, jazz, classic soul, hip-hop and neosoul, on five stages within the Louisiana Superdome.
