Coe Park has 87,000+ acres of wild open spaces. The terrain is rugged, varied, & beautiful, with lofty ridges & steep canyons. Once the home of Ohlone Indians, the park is now home to a fascinating variety of plants & animals, including the elusive mountain lion. Within Coe Park are the headwaters of Coyote Creek, long stretches of the Pacheco and Orestimba creeks, & a 23,300-acre wilderness area.
This 7.2 mile hike is one of the park's easiest. More info & photos are available at http://www.bahiker.com/southbayhikes/coehh.html & http://www.coepark.org/
This hike will be at the usual 'Fat Sunday' leisurely 'let's smell the roses' pace. BRING: Good hiking footwear, layers, water, snack.
