Cinco de Mayo commemorates the 1862 victory in Puebla, Mexico, of Mexican troops over the French Army of Napoleon III, which was trying to add Mexico to its list of conquered nations. The festivities are held over a five day period at Douglas Park and will include family-oriented activities such as live music, food booths, carnival rides and games.
