The GHRA’s 2005 ‘Dine Around’ is the organization’s 5th annual “progressive dinner party,” which offers Houstonians a roving tour of some of Houston best restaurants. Guests gather at Jillian’s on the Katy Freeway for appetizers, then board one of 10 luxury buses which visit two restaurants each to enjoy signature entrées. Diners then return to Jillian’s for dessert and raffle drawings. Each Dine Around bus has a celebrity “bus host” that leads revelers on the culinary tour event goodie bags are distributed to each “traveler” as well. Proceeds benefit the Houston Food Bank, the Greater Houston Restaurant Association, the Texas Restaurant Association Education Foundation, the Conrad N. Hilton College of Hotel & Restaurant Management at the University of Houston, The Art Institute of Houston, San Jacinto College, Houston Community College, Alief ISD, Houston ISD, Spring Branch ISD and the TRA Cougar Chapter. $40 ($35 for GHRA members)
