Celebrating 100 years of educating artists and designers, Atlanta College of Art will hold its 75th commencement exercises at the school, located at 1280 Peachtree Street, in the Woodruff Arts Center, on Saturday, May 14 at 10 a.m. Atlanta Mayor Shirley Franklin, will be the commencement speaker and will receive an Honorary Doctorate of Fine Arts degree. Seventy students will receive degrees.
Atlanta College of Art, the oldest private college of art and design in the Southeast is the only fully accredited college of art and design in Georgia and has been awarding Bachelor of Fine Arts degrees since 1946. It is the only college in the nation to share its campus with a museum (High Museum of Art), a theatre (Alliance Theatre) and a symphony (Atlanta Symphony Orchestra).
