The Urban Mediamakers Film Festival (UMFF) 2006 brings a strong Atlanta vibe that encompasses the city's signature of being a 'melting pot' of cultures Blacks, Whites, Latinos, Asians, Indians, and Native Americans. The 3-day festival will continue the theme of "Creating Urban Legends in Independent Filmmaking."
The UMFF 2006 features music video and film competitions (short- and feature-length, Writer's Row sponsored by ABC and The Walt Disney Studios, networking, workshops, and independent films case studies. The festival will provide workshops on Basic Film Financing and Selling Your Film: The Distribution Strategy. FREE Information Seminars will feature Gorilla Software and FrameForge Storyboard Software for independent filmmakers. FREE Independent Film Screenings. The UMFF 2005 Indie Awards Celebration will honor Tyler Perry with the "Ossie Davis Independent Filmmaker's Award" and Craig Brewer with the "Independent Spirit Award on Saturday night, October 15, 2005.
