The Diabetes Association of Atlanta, Inc. is introducing its newest initiative, the H2 Youth Program to the Atlanta metropolitan community. The purpose of the H2 Youth Program is to make regular physical activity and healthy eating “habits” in the lives of middle-school aged (11-14) youths.
The H2 Youth Program will kick-off on Saturday, January 28, 2006 at the Centennial Place Family YMCA. The kick-off is from 10:00 AM-12:30 PM. This lively event will feature the H2 Youth Council cooking demonstrations with healthy snacks a rock-climbing wall diabetes screenings youth-friendly physical activity challenges and talk-to-a-dietician sessions. Special guests will include the Atlanta Hawks Dance Team and a performance from the Youth Ensemble of Atlanta.
