Info:
Nearly four decades later, the events of Hurricane Katrfina have removed the blinders from current perspectives on the national poverty scenario. As the people left behind in a natural disaster, the poor of New Orleans were equally the victims of the unnatural disasters of education, unemployment and low wages.
As a way of addressing the unfinished work of poverty in America, the formal installation of The Rev. Dr. Raphael G. Warnock will commence with a symposium - a call to theologians, ministers, scholars, policymakers, activists, practitioners and concerned citizens - to examine the root causes of poverty in America.
