Register now for the Atlanta Regional Commission’s 2010 State of the Region breakfast, scheduled for Friday, November 5 at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta. Join 1,000 other regional leaders in focusing on key issues and challenges facing our region and as we move forward together.
This year’s breakfast will feature keynote speaker, Ron Sims, Deputy Secretary of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Before being sworn into this high ranking position in May 2009, Mr. Sims served as the Executive for King County, Washington, the 13th largest county in the U.S., encompassing Seattle, Bellevue and Redmond. Mr. Sims has been innovative at the local and national levels in promoting the nexus between transportation, land use, housing and the environment, culminating in innovative approaches to livability for all.
The newly elected Governor of Georgia will be invited to provide greetings. Also, the ARC Fifty Forward visioning efforts final report will be presented, as well as the 12th annual developments of Excellence.
