The Minority Professional Network (MPN) has been selected by the U.S. Department of State in support of its efforts to recruit more African-Americans, Latinos and other people of color into the Foreign Service to help promote U.S. diplomacy abroad.  This is part of a national effort to ensure that the U.S. Department of State looks more like the face of America.  MPN has launched an online and communications campaign to inform others about these unique opportunities

In addition to the ongoing campaign aimed at creating awareness across the U.S., MPN is also partnering with the U.S. State Department to host a “Diversity Career Networking Night” in Houston, TX on March 3, 2005, and also in Los Angeles, CA on March 10, 2005.  If you or others you know reside in or will be visiting the Houston or Los Angeles areas and want to meet and hear firsthand from State Department representatives, please review the applicable media advisory below and RSVP as requested.

U. S. STATE DEPARTMENT’S DIVERSITY CAREER NETWORKING NIGHT

Representatives of the State Department, including Ambassadors and other senior-level members, will be visiting Houston in efforts to recruit more African-Americans, Latinos and other people of color into the Foreign Service to help promote U.S. diplomacy abroad.  This is a part of a national effort to ensure that the U.S. Department of State looks more like the face of America.

Several senior Foreign Service Diplomats, Ambassadors and entry-level officers from the State Department will be available to speak with attendees about the exciting career opportunities awaiting them in the State. Department, including:
