Job Description The Payroll Administrator performs the day to day administrative, accounting and clerical tasks related to the maintenance and processing of payroll transactions. Work includes, but is not limited to, compilation of payroll data (e.g., hours worked, taxes, insurance, union dues to be withheld) from timesheets and other records, processing weekly payroll data, preparing employee wage earning statements, checks and EFTs, submitting organization tax liabilities, and preparing statements for 3rd party retirement liabilities. The Payroll Administrator may interact with internal and external contact with customers and regulatory agencies. The Payroll Administrator also works with and supports IT regarding the maintenance and testing of related payroll systems and processes and supports the Payroll Manager and Payroll Technicians in ensuring conformity with corporate practices, policies and procedures related to payroll. Key Responsibilities Provide direction and support to departments throughout the organization regarding payroll policies and procedures and implementation of new practices. Provide information and answer employee questions about payroll related matters. Position Summary: The Water Bureau has an exciting opportunity in its Engineering Design Section. This position will manage a group that completes capital projects for the Engineering Services Group. The role will help in ensuring the delivering high quality, efficient, and critical projects for Portland Water Bureau (PWB) customers. The Engineering Supervisor will work closely with the Design Section Engineering Manager to lead and supervise a staff of Engineers, Engineering Technicians, and Capital Project Managers.
This position currently oversees work to support the water bureaus Groundwater, and Pump Station & Distribution Storage Programs. Responsibilities include providing oversight for and assigning work for engineering staff to ensure that program and project goals are met. Work includes review of scopes, schedules and budgets for the program and individual projects are established and maintained. This position monitors and provides input for projects from Planning to Construction Management; performs design project quality assurance/quality control check; actively participates as a member of Project Review Board (PRB) and the Engineering Management Team (EMT). The position provides technical training and mentoring for Section staff; guides development of staff to fill future needs; interacts with other Groups in the water bureau, other city bureaus and outside agencies on joint projects. This position may also be designated project manager to lead sensitive and/or technically complex projects requiring a senior level engineer.

As maintenance orders are received, this position will float between NCPRD facilities (Milwaukee, Aquatic Parks, and the Milwaukie Community Centers). In addition to working maintenance orders, the selected candidate will complete day-to-day janitorial functions to maintain district facilities.
