With the advent of the "internet of things", big data will only get bigger. As GigaOM Pro analyst Adam Lesser wrote recently in his report on energy data, when smart meters are fully deployed they could generate 1,000 petabytes of data a year about 5x the amount of data currently on AT&T's network. Proponents of the Internet of Things believe there could be up to 50 billion sensors hooked up by the year 2020-turning the promise of Big Data into a reality. Says Andy Stanford-Clark, Master Inventor, IBM, "The implications are huge. We can help solve the energy crisis and improve agriculture, transportation and healthcare. It will make getting things done easier, cheaper and more efficient."
Please join us as experts in this arena speak to the opportunities in this booming arena now and in the not so distant future...
