NTC's The Foreigner, The First Show in NTC's New Theater Opens May 24th
The Novato Theater Company (NTC) presents The Foreigner, the Obie Award and Outer Circle Critics Award winning two-act comedy by American playwright Larry Shue. The play has become a staple of professional and amateur theatre.
The opening of The Foreigner represents a long overdue homecoming to Novato because it will be the first play to be performed in NTC's new theater space at 5420 Nave Drive, and the first play of the 2012-13 Season to play in Novato. While hunting for their new home, NTC produced the other 4 shows of the Season at San Rafael locations. Set in a fishing lodge in Georgia, Froggy LeSueur, a British demolitions expert, is trying to put his friend, Charlie Baker, at ease. Charlie has come along for a much needed getaway. The problem is he is pathologically shy and is terrified at the prospect of having to converse with strangers at the lodge for three days. In an attempt to help his shy friend, Froggy tells the owner of the lodge that Charlie is from an exotic foreign country and neither speaks nor understands English, which leads to hilarious consequences.
The entire cast and production crew are from Marin and Sonoma Counties, Director: Jerrie Patterson Producer: Zanne Dailey Stage Manager: Halina Krukowski Cat Bish (Betty) is from Rohnert Park Rachel Brogdon (Catherine) is from Santa Rosa John Conway (Owen), Johnny DeBernard (Froggy) Parker Neely (Ellard) and Robert Nelson (David) are all from Novato Frederick Lein (Charley) is from San Rafael.
