  Northwest Kidney Centers will hold its 11th annual Kidney Health Fest for African American Families on Saturday, June 22, 2013. The free event runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Van Asselt Elementary (formerly the African American Academy), 8311 Beacon Ave. S., in Seattle, on Metro Route 106. Everyone is welcome to attend. The fest will feature free health screenings from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and an educational program from 10 a.m. to noon with Chris B. Bennett of KRIZ/KZIZ Radio as emcee. The day also includes healthy food made by local celebrity chefs, music by Comfort Food and PNW Drum Line, exhibits, and a chance to win prizes.
