Wielding homemade headgear amps and accompanied by a cheer squad, the 30-member Chicago band Mucca Pazza will march its way onto the WaterCourt stage. An eccentric gang of loud-and-proud self-proclaimed band geeks, this circus punk marching band’s repertoire ranges from Balkan brass to covers of `60s TV themes.
Fanfare Ciocărlia is one of the world’s most renowned Roma/Balkan brass bands. Hailing from northeastern Romania, this popular 12-piece band is best known for its breakneck, high-energy sound, complex rhythms, staccato clarinet, and saxophone and trumpet solos.
