MIT Media Lab director Joi Ito is a leading thinker and writer on innovation, global technology policy, and the role of the Internet in transforming society. He is board chair of Creative Commons, and sits on the boards of the Mozilla Foundation, WITNESS, Global Voices, Sony Corporation, The New York Times Company, MacArthur Foundation, Knight Foundation, and Digital Garage, an Internet company he co-founded in Japan. Ito was an early investor in more than 40 companies, including Flickr, Six Apart, Last.fm, Kongregate, Kickstarter, and Twitter. He has been honored as one of TIME magazine's "Cyber-Elite" (1997, at age 31) the World Economic Forum's "Global Leaders for Tomorrow" (2001) and BusinessWeek's "25 Most Influential People on the Web" (2008). Oxford Internet Institute recognized him with a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2011.
As entrepreneur, executive and angel investor, Reid Hoffman has played an integral role in building many of today's leading consumer technology businesses. He is a partner at Greylock Partners and co-founder and executive chairman at LinkedIn. He's on the boards of Zynga, Mozilla Corp., Shopkick, Wrapp, Edmodo, Kiva.org, and an observer at Airbnb. He is also an angel investor in Digg, Facebook, Flickr, Last.fm, Ning, Six Apart and Zynga. Hoffman earned a Master's degree in Philosophy from Oxford University, where he was a Marshall Scholar, and a Bachelor's degree in Symbolic Systems from Stanford University, where he graduated with distinction. In 2010 Hoffman was the recipient of an SD Forum Visionary Award and named a Henry Crown Fellow by The Aspen Institute.
