Founded in September of 2013, the Oakland Interfaith Community Choir is the latest addition to the Oakland Interfaith Gospel Choir family and is already over 45 members strong. In their first year, they have joined OIGC on the stage at the historic Paramount Theatre in Oakland and at the OIGC Annual Spring Musical in March. This is their premiere concert and it is not to be missed!
OICC will be joined by former OIGC singer, Zoe Ellis, Antoin Timmons and host Patrick Landeza as well Oakland Interfaith Youth Choir and Imani Ya Watume Liturgical Dancers.
About Zoe Ellis: Zoe Ellis has been singing all her life. Starting in elementary school with light opera, she moved on to gospel, R & B, soul, hip-hop, and house music. She added a capella improvision to her repertoire when she joined SoVoSo in 2005 and with them has been touring Europe and the US. She also sings with Keith Terry's Slammin All-Body Band and, alongside her brother, jazz saxophonist Dave Ellis, with Zadell (Zoe and Dave Ellis Music), which showcases their original compositions highlighting both the power and emotion of her voice, and its softer, soul-stirring side.
About Antoin Timmons: Antion Timmons is a vocalist, songwriter, musician and worship Leader-Love Center Ministries Oakland, CA.
About Patrick Landeza: Patrick Landeza, Hawaiian slack key guitarist extraordinaire is thrilled to return to Kona with his musical brothers! In 2013, Landeza made Hawaiian music history as the first musician based on the mainland to win the prestigious Na Hoku Hanohano Award for Slack Key Album of the Year Landeza is a Hawaii Music Award winner and was recently awarded Listen for Life's "Musician of the Heart Award".
