PHR/SPHR Certification - Why Now is the Time!
HRCI Certifications represent the gold standard of our profession. Widely recognized - in fact, 96% of employers say that an HR-certified (PHR/SPHR) candidate applying for a job would have an advantage over a non-certified candidate - these credentials demonstrate a commitment to the profession and to career-long development. And, peers who hold the PHR or SPHR tend to make more money than those who don't.
Two Certifications in One
PLUS, certifying now can get you TWO certifications. You might have heard that SHRM has developed their own certifications - SHRM-CP (certified professional) and SHRM-SCP (senior certified professional).
Professionals holding the PHR/SPHR/GPHR, or who obtain it before January 2015, will be granted the new SHRM certification at no cost by simply:
-Having an active HRCI certification -Signing the SHRM code of ethics (SHRM membership not required) -Participating in an online tutorial. (Available in January)
No test. No cost. Only in 2015. After this window closes, you must pay for and pass a comprehensive exam to earn the new credentials.
So, getting your PHR/SPHR/GPHR now is not only a smart move, you can also get the newest industry certification just for having it!
