Father Stephen Sundborg, S.J., president of Seattle University, will be the keynote speaker at Providence Hospice of Seattle's 15th annual Pediatric Luncheon.
Since becoming president of Seattle University, Father Sundborg has been strongly committed to promoting social justice and actively supports programs that encourage students, faculty, and staff to make a difference, whether in the local community or developing countries.
KING-5 TV news anchor Dennis Bounds will emcee the luncheon. Proceeds will benefit Providence Hospice of Seattle's children's hospice and palliative care program and children's grief support program.
"Thousands of grieving and terminally ill children in King County have benefitted from care over the last 14 years because of this lunch," said Gary Crum, director of the Providence Hospice of Seattle Foundation. "I know this year's event will continue this important legacy."
Doors open for the event at 11:30 a.m. and the program begins promptly at noon at the Washington State Convention Center, 800 Convention Place, in Seattle. Participants will not be charged for lunch, but a $150 donation is requested. Funds raised will be used to help seriously ill and grieving children get the care they deserve, regardless of their financial circumstances.
To register for the event, contact Jill Perry at jill.perry@providence.org or 206-749-7956.
