Info:
The iconic "feel good" band plays the Firehouse Arts Center in Pleasanton. The concert will include mega hits "Whatcha Gonna Do When She Says Goodbye," "Love Will Find A Way," and many more. Founding members Dave Jenkins (vocals), Cory Lerios (vocals/keyboards), and Steve Prince (drums) are joined by Larry Antonio (bass). "To groove to the recordings is one thing...but to experience (the music) live is an exhilarating event," says Emmy Award winner and original band member Cory Lerios, who invites folks to "climb aboard the Good Ship Pablo Cruise."
A little "Pablo" history: In 1975 Pablo Cruise released its first A&M album simply titled 'Pablo Cruise.' That album cover was shot in the tropical gardens of San Francisco's Golden Gate Park and it featured a huge gorilla standing front and center, with the band nowhere in sight. When asked, "So who is Pablo?" the band, which is a four-some, would answer, "He's the guy in the middle." When asked "Why Pablo Cruise?" the answer went something like: 'Pablo' represents an honest, real, down to earth individual and 'Cruise' represents his fun loving, easy going attitude towards life. And that's what Pablo Cruise's music is all about.
Reaching the top 10 with mega hits like "Whatcha Gonna Do" and "Love Will Find A Way," the band went on to sell several million albums and singles collectively and established themselves as well-respected writers and performers within the industry. They appeared on numerous TV shows, including Dick Clark's American Bandstand and The Merv Griffin Show. In 1979 they broke Elvis Presley's attendance record at The Sahara Tahoe, becoming the first rock band to play a Casino Showroom. They also became the first rock band to grace the stage of the Grand Ole Opry.
In 2011 Pablo Cruise headed back to the studio with Grammy winning producer Val Garay, re-recording some of their greatest hits for Red Red Records (a division of Sony Music Entertainment). ...and Pablo Cruises on!
