Artist Reception: Friday, Oct. 3, 5-9pm Exhibit Thurs-Sat Oct 4-18, 1-5pm
"Essence" is defined as "the inward nature, true substance, or constitution of anything, as opposed to what is accidental, phenomenal, illusory, etc." For this exhibition, each artist stepped forward with their "inward nature".
Utilizing acrylics and oils, 6 Chinese painters from Guangzhou, China: Liang Mingming, Liang Yier, Lei Shujuan, Liu Ling, Shen Jianwei and Wang Dongbiao present an array of works depicting nature, still life, floral and abstracts. This show will run till October 18 and the artists will be on hand to share their thoughts with you.
Liang Mingming captures flowers showing their delicate blooms with vibrant colors. The floral colors in red, yellow, purple, provide a burst of energy that evokes a feeling of warm and strength.
In contrast, Liu Ling abstracts painting contain bold strokes, allowing continuous flow of energy to all corners of the canvas. The energy sweeps you along into deeper thoughts.
Majority of the artists attended the Guangzhou Art Academy and have won many awards and distinctions in China and abroad. Collectors in China, Australia, New Zealand and Southeast Asia have acquired their art. With the exception of Liang Mingming, this is the first time that the artists are showing in the United States.
