Every Sunday and select school holidays from 1-3pm, families can experience a new adventure in art-making free with admission to The Contemporary Jewish Museum. As always, the hands-on fun inspires children to learn more about the exhibitions on display in the galleries, the building's architecture, or holidays and traditions while experimenting with materials and art techniques.
Sundays, November 2, 9, & 16: Faces and Spaces Inspired by the portraits in the exhibition Arnold Newman: Masterclass, create a unique space in our studio that you will use as a background for your black and white portrait. After printing, add layers of colors to make it reflect your unique interests and personality.
Sundays, November 23 & 30 Friday, November 28: Picture Book Adventures Step inside the world of picture books. Meet local author/illustrators and get inspired to create your own colorful tales in watercolor, printing, and collage. Add your own characters and ideas to collaborative pop up books and whimsical backgrounds created by local artist Julia Sackett.
