Beloved by singers and audiences alike, this emotional, highly dramatic masterpiece has been popular in concert since the first performance established Brahms as a force in Vienna's musical life. We will be performing the version of the score that Brahms set for 4-hands piano. This unusual version highlights the clarity, precision and power of Brahms' masterful composition and brings an immediacy and intimacy to the vocal exposition of the various texts that Brahms chose for the seven movements. And each of the individual sections of the Requiem is full of wonderful counterpoint, glorious melodies and grand fugal passages. BCG is very pleased to welcome Jennifer Ashworth as our soprano soloist, and Ben Kazez as our baritone soloist.
