Info:
Acclaimed Bay Area women's vocal ensemble Solstice will sing their eclectic mix of holiday songs performed live in the beautiful acoustic of Saint John's Episcopal Church in Ross.
The afternoon's selections include the Spanish Renaissance "A un nino llorando al hielo", several Middle English Christmas texts set by 20th century composer Williametta Spencer, an original arrangement of Vince Guaraldi's "Christmas Time is Here" from the Charlie Brown Christmas special, in addition to beautiful and unusual carols from around the world. The beautiful arrangement of "Silent Night" by Lasse Kontula is sung in Finnish, German, and English.
Let the angelic voices of these seven women ease you into the peace and warmth of the season, and come away with joy in your heart and several copies of their holiday CD "Winter Solstice" in your shopping bag. It's the perfect last-minute solution for those hard-to-please folks on your list.
