The David Brower Center is pleased to present The Speed of Light: Lisa K. Blatt and Christina Seely, on view from February 12 - May 14, 2015.
The Speed of Light features the work of two photographers with strong Bay Area roots: Lisa K. Blatt and Christina Seely. Their artworks explore the impacts of human civilization through two elements so essential to our existence that we often overlook their importance: light and time. Through beautiful, often spare images, taken from all over the world, audiences are invited to consider the artificial light of cities and the energy required to produce it, the effects of climate change on natural rhythms, and human society's increasingly delicate balance with the environment.
The David Brower Center hosts an Opening Reception in the Hazel Wolf Gallery on Thursday, February 12 from 6:30pm-9:30pm. This will also include a special artist talk by Christina Seely in the Richard and Rhoda Goldman Theater at 7:30pm. The reception is free with a $10 suggested donation.
