After the film, join us for a dynamic panel on the impact of Islamophobia & anti-Arab racism on community members, students, teachers! How can we effectively confront it in our neighborhoods, classrooms, workplaces and schools?
Featuring acclaimed author Dr. Jack Shaheen, REEL BAD ARABS explores a long line of degrading images of Arabs, offering devastating insights into the origin of these stereotypic images, their development at key points in US history, and why they matter so much today. The film underscores the need for counter-narratives that do justice to the diversity, humanity, and richness of Arab history and culture. It also shows how US domestic and international policies affect the lives of individual Arabs.
