Enjoy a lobby concert by members of the San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus as they present numbers from their upcoming choral opera about the true love story of two Jewish men who were persecuted by the Nazis for being homosexual. Kip Neven who plays Gad Beck (a survivor who became a Jewish resistance fighter and later rescued over 1,000 Jews from death) and SF Opera Adler Fellow Hadleigh Adams who is Beck's doomed lover, Manfred Lewin, will be joined by members of the Chorus to sing excerpts from the opera. A brief discussion of the history behind the opera follows the performance. SFGMC will present For a Look or a Touch in its entirety at Davies Symphony Hall on April 1 and 2. The Contemporary Jewish Museum is a co-sponsoring organization for these concerts.
