Paddle to the Sea is the Tuolumne River Trust's annual paddle-a-thon to protect the Tuolumne River and raise awareness for river stewardship. This May and June, signyourself or your team upfor a fun one-day paddle on the Tuolumne or American River, or challenge yourself to go the distance from the Sierra to the Sea! Most legs are family-friendly and open to beginners (some legs are even dog-friendly!). Learn more and register at paddletothesea.org.
Interested in joining for a day? The event is open to the public on May 16, 17, 30, 31, and June 13. Join us to paddle, raft, canoe, kayak, or sail as we make our way from Yosemite to the Golden Gate Bridge. Participants are expected to fundraise a minimum of $100, and fundraising prizes start at $150.
All funds raised by Paddle to the Sea go directly to support the Tuolumne River Trust's work to help recover from the 2013 Rim Fire, educate children and communities dependent on the river about water conservation and efficiency in the face of the extreme drought conditions that California is currently facing, and restore the watershed.
All on water gear (boat, paddle, PFD) and shuttles back to your car are provided. Each public day on the water will feature a "lunchtime talk" by a keynote speaker who will lead a discussion on current water issues.
Join our "Principal Paddlers" for a day as they make their way from the Sierra to the Sea! Interested in becoming a Principal Paddler and paddling the entire journey from source to sea, May 9th - June 13th? Contact the Paddle to the Sea Coordinator at paddle@tuolumne.org, 415-882-7252
