On April 4 from 2-10pm at the Brava Theater, the Switchboard Music Festival will present 13 sets of music, including the Real Vocal String Quartet, Kitka Vocal trio, Brass Magic, and the premiere of In C Re-Do, a re-imagining of Terry Riley's In C featuring contributions from over 50 composers.
The Switchboard Music Festival is the flagship event of San Francisco's Switchboard Music, an organization presenting music that appeals to omnivorous listeners while building a community of composers and performers who are bound together by their experimental and genre-bending approaches to music-making. On April 4 from 2-10 pm, the Switchboard Music Festival will present 13 sets by over sixty performers - tickets grant all-day, come-and-go as you please access to see acts including:
2:00 pm Brass Magic 2:50 pm Bill Baird - Mundus Interni 3:15 pm Friction Quartet 3:55 pm Random House 4:20 pm Bill Baird - Mundus Novus 4:45 pm Nathan Clevenger Group 5:20 pm Black Spirituals 5:45 pm SF Conservatory Clarinet Ensemble 6:15 pm Powerdove 7:00 pm Patrick Cress - Yosemite Soundscape 7:30 pm Kitka 8:10 pm Real Vocal String Quartet 9:00 pm In C Re-Do, a re-imagining of Terry Riley's In C featuring contributions from over 50 Switchboard artists past and present plus other members of the Switchboard community, including Glenn Kotche, Greg Saunier (Deerhoof), Carla Kihlstedt, Fred Frith, Pamela Z, Samuel Adams, and all three Switchboard co-directors. The In C Re-Do will be performed by Switchboard festival artists and alumni with the score projected onstage.
