This year marks 40 years that Bobbe has been teaching yoga in the Oakland-San Francisco Bay Area. In May 2011, Bobbe was recognized by former mayor Jean Quan, for her contributions to the health and wellbeing of Oakland residents. Anasa Yoga is located at 4232 MacArthur Blvd. in Oakland's Laurel District.
In Bobbe's 40 years of teaching, she has exposed generations of students in Oakland to yoga, and these students have gone on to teach many others. She is a pioneer and trailblazer, using her training and love for yoga to reach out to people, and broaden the practice of yoga throughout the Bay Area. She was the first African American yoga teacher to publish a yoga book in 1990 called Easy Yoga for Busy People. Former Oakland Mayor-Jean Quan proclaimed May 15, 2011 as, "Bobbe Norrise Day".

The studio is a beautiful 2,450 square foot facility, which includes two studios, lounge areas, and kitchenette.
