Beer, food and music will be on tap for the Oakland East Bay Symphony second annual Bach & Brew event scheduled this year for Saturday, June 13, from 4 to 7 pm at Drakes Brewery, 1933 Davies Street, San Leandro, 94577. As part of the special offerings for the evening, Drakes will brew a limited-edition "Symphony Beer," having selected a recipe from one of Oakland East Bay Symphony's many musicians who are avid home brewers to be sold at this event. Other Drakes's beers and food will be available for purchase, and members of the Oakland East Bay Symphony, conducted by Michael Morgan, will perform throughout the event including, of course, music by Bach and others. Last season, 400 Symphony and epicurean enthusiasts attended the inaugural Oakland East Bay Symphony Bach & Brew event, making it a sold-out success.
A $50 pre-sold Symphony Six-pack package for the June 13 event includes three beer tokens, a souvenir pint glass with the Drakes and Oakland East Bay Symphony logos and a Drake's t-shirt and donation ($20 of ticket cost is tax deductable). The event is free and open to the public and donations to the Symphony are encouraged. All proceeds will benefit the Oakland East Bay Symphony's acclaimed Young Peoples' Concerts that each fall introduce thousands of school students to music. Tickets may be ordered in advance at www.oebs.org/bachandbrew purchasers must be age 21 and older. For more information, visit www.oebs.org/bachandbrew .
Bach & Brew is part of the Oakland East Bay Symphony's programing that brings music off the stage and into the community, melding it with communities and venues to enrich the social and cultural life of Oakland and the East Bay.
