The Festival reprises San Francisco composer Nathaniel Stookey's delightful whodunit, The Composer is Dead, narrated by the composer himself. The San Francisco Chronicle describes the work as a "blithe, vivacious orchestral score...funny, buoyant and engaging." It all begins with the wildly popular Tour of the Orchestra, which invites kids to meet the orchestra's different instruments and players, then Maestra Alsop leads the orchestra through a musical murder mystery that will keep the whole family laughing while on the edge of their seats!
The Free Family Concert happens during the Church Street Fair, a two-day family-friendly event with food and wine, art and craft vendors, kids activities, and non-stop local music and dance performances on the outdoor stage.
