Info:
Come by every second Saturday of the month this summer and experience our series, Summer of Motion! How did guests get to the Panama-Pacific International Exposition (PPIE), they took cars, trains, and planes, and we are celebrating that with a new theme each month this summer. For August, we celebrate aviation and its' role at the PPIE!
Fun Fact: Did you know that the PPIE was the first time aviation was featured at a World's Fair? All World's Fairs highlight innovations from the year of the last fair to the current one, so the 1915 World's Fair was the first opportunity to highlight flight since it was not invented for the fair before it!
Activities include: - Design/draw your own flying machine! Be inspired by images, both historic and contemporary of planes in flight and create your own! - Design your own World's Fair Palace at our Build the World's Fair Craft Project! - Come learn about drones, googles glasses, and more from 11:30-1:00 PM! - Take a break from all the travel and listen to a story from Screen Actors Guild Book Pal, Teresa at 1:00 PM. - Take a seat or get up and dance to fun tunes with Musician, Mike Santillan at 1:30PM.
