Leaders at all levels are discovering that the Logical Framework Approach (LFA) is the "missing ingredient" in the recipe for getting outstanding results. That's because this management innovation provides a common language and smooth process for smoothly planning and executing complex projects and strategic initiatives of all type.
This powerful systems thinking approach integrates concepts from strategic planning, project management, risk management, and the scientific method into an interactive visual matrix for planning and communicating strategy. The LFA was originally developed to help USAID and the World Bank to plan, execute, and evaluate complex development projects. Management expert Terry Schmidt worked with the LFA inventors, taught it worldwide, and then adapted it to meet the needs of business and technology organizations in his book "Strategic Project Management Made Simple" (Wiley, 2009).
In this lively session, you will learn the four critical strategic questions that let you design winning projects and initiatives faster than any other method. And you will get a step-by-step process for designing executable action plans of any type and scale. These simple but powerful concepts will help you to:
Focus everyone on the same vision Align projects to the big picture Create execution plans that deliver results Reduce risk and avoid later problems Start faster and finish sooner Improve coordination across functions
Notes for In Person Registrants and Teams: Immediately after the in person session, there will be a three-hour LFA Practicum during which you will deepen your skills and actually build a Logical Framework solution on a topic of your choice. There is a separate fee for the Practicum sign up in advance to get the advanced registration discount. This is a great opportunity for team to develop, with consultation from Terry, a Logical Framework Matrix customized to their own specific issue.
