SAFEhouse for the Performing Arts, a non-profit organization working to incubate new performing artists through residencies, workshops, and performance opportunities, is proud to announce the 24th Season of West Wave Dance Festival: "Cultural Destinations", featuring emerging and established choreographers and dancers. This year's Festival features more than 26 artists and 18 premieres in five days.
West Wave Dance Festival, held in San Francisco each year, is a choreography showcase presented in a shared-program format. This year's Festival includes artists that have been selected to create premieres while in residency at SAFEhouse. The 2015 program features:
Three evenings of curated works by Nina Haft, Laura Elaine Ellis, and Janey Madamba, and two evenings of resident choreographer showcases featuring performances by Sean Dorsey, SOULSKIN Dance, and Mary Carbonara as well as additional artists including Sonsheree Giles, Tanya Bello, Amy Lewis, Sarah Bush, The Klipptones and Mark Foehringer among others.
