What are cats? Are they magical creatures? Who knows? What I do know is that this art show will celebrate them for whatever they are. It feels like in the past, cats were not appreciated as much as they are starting to in this modern wonderful day and age. Cats may even get more popular. I myself worship them. Or if I worshipped anything it might be them. Probably. Last year was the show, "Let's Hear It For The Cat!". It was fun. I grew up with cats. They are very funny animals from my observations. Yeah, art history isn't full enough with pictures of cats yet. There is something stupid to the idea of focusing only on cats and in doing this show and I want to be aware of everything. I honestly, currently don't own a cat. They're too much work! I feel pretty open minded about this show. Whether you love cats or hate them come. Last year I was all about how perfect cats are in every way shape or form. This year as I curate this, I want the truth to be free. Whatever that means. I'm done with just making a sellable painting of a cat. I think the reason why we like cats so much is the same reason we like ourselves so much. Anyhow this is a cat art show.
