Info:
Caminar, with headquarters in San Mateo, is a nonprofit agency with over half a century of providing community-based services for adults with mental, physical, and developmental disabilities in the greater Bay Area. The number of people Caminar serves annually has grown from 41 individuals in 1964 to almost 2,500 today, with an organizational budget of $19 million. Caminar's mission is to improve the quality of life for people with disabilities by providing opportunities to live in the community with dignity and independence.
Since 2011, Caminar has been holding an annual event to raise funds for services, promote awareness, and reduce the stigma around mental illness. This year our 51st Anniversary Celebration, In Concert with Caminar: Saving Lives from Crisis to Independence will be held on Friday, November 13, 2015 at AT&T Park, home of the World Series Champion San Francisco Giants.
Join Master of Ceremonies Ted Robinson for a memorable evening of stadium tours, private pictures with the three World Series Trophies, live music from Grammy award winners and nominees The Rockin' Horns and Shelly Berg, dinner, and a live auction, as Caminar celebrates its 51st year of serving individuals on the road to recovery from crisis to independence.
Caminar will also debut this year's client success story video, one of strength, courage, and openness, demonstrating that with understanding, knowledge, and compassion, recovery happens.
