October is one of our favorite months the year. We are celebrating local businesses, neighborhoods and recognizing extraordinary entrepreneurs with our Neighborhood Business Awards. Last year's event was wonderful and this year promises to be better - with a Client Showcase of a handful of our clients (including San Francycle, Entermuseblues, StudioNico, Beautiful You, The Strand Barber and Beauty and more) during our reception, a silent auction (including vacation homes in the beach and mountains and special screening tickets to The Voice, and lots more), an added beer tasting courtesy of Tsing Tao beers, and a special dessert reception - in addition to wonderful wine, fine cuisine and compelling stories from our Neighborhood Business Award winners.
Supervisor Kim will present one award and Supervisor Breed's office will present another we also look forward to hosting the Mayor's Deputy Director of Neighborhood Services and the Assessor for the City of San Francisco, as well as State Senator Mark Leno and State Assemblyman Phil Ting. Moreover, Leah Garchik of the San Francisco Chronicle, will host the event - she presided over our Donor Appreciation Lunch in the spring and was both poignant and powerful.
Leah Garchik, columnist San Francisco Chronicle will serve as the evening's MC, as well as serving on our judging panel. Akilah Monifa, Director of Communications and Public Affairs and Producer Bay Sunday, KPIX-TV, and Ken Fisher and Silvia Scandar, Truth Be Told, served as an independent panel judging he award nominations.
