Info:
Visionary virtuoso Jennifer Koh's "Bridge to Beethoven" project explores the impact and significance of Beethoven on a diverse group of composers and musicians. Her longtime recital partner and contemporary, acclaimed pianist Shai Wosner, joins Koh for this reflection on influence, innovation and originality by some of the most incisive minds in the new generation of classical music.
"Bridge to Beethoven" pairs Beethoven's ten sonatas for violin and piano with works specifically commissioned as musical "bridges" to his iconic works over four programs, its purpose to ignite creative conversations around his music as a universal, culture-crossing source of inspiration.
Violinist Jennifer Koh is recognized for her intense, commanding performances, delivered with dazzling virtuosity and technical assurance. With an impassioned musical curiosity, she is dedicated to performing the violin repertoire of all eras from traditional to contemporary, believing that the past and present form a continuum. Koh has appeared with major orchestras including New York Philharmonic, Los Angeles Philharmonic, BBC London Symphony, Singapore Symphony, among many others.
Pianist Shai Wosner has attracted international recognition for his exceptional artistry, musical integrity and creative insight. His performances of a broad range of repertoire, from Beethoven and Mozart to Schoenberg and Ligeti, as well as music by his contemporaries, communicate his imaginative programming and intellectual curiosity. Wosner has appeared with major orchestras worldwide including the Chicago Symphony, Cleveland Orchestra, Los Angeles Philharmonic, and San Francisco Symphony in the US, and the Frankfurt Radio Symphony and LSO St. Luke's, among others.
