Artist reception November 14, 5:30 - 8:30 p.m., exhibition November 14 through December 31, 2015
Catherine Woskow | Nov 14 - Dec 31 | 2015
Vorres Gallery Presents:
Figuratively Speaking
A Solo Exhibition of Works by Catherine Woskow
November 14 through December 31, 2015
An artist reception will be held November 14, 2015 from 5:30 - 8:30 p.m.
Catherine Woskow has worked as a painter, and fine wood worker for over thirty-five years. Her fine art has been shown in solo and group exhibitions throughout the U.S. and in Europe.
The paintings depend upon certainty of line, where linear elements sweep and dance, twisting their way across the canvas to generate an explosive inner tension that seems both to threaten and secure its unity at one and the same time.
In addition to the paintings, we will be showcasing several pieces of Woskow's hand crafted furniture. Meticulously built, each piece inspired by found objects, they exhibit a polarity play between scavenged wood, metal and paint.
Woskow is a native of Ukiah, California. She was educated at the Bradford Liberal Arts College, Massachusetts Sonoma State, California and the Koningkijke Akademie voor Kunst en Vormgeving, the Netherlands.
