The Choral Project (TCP), the award-winning, community-based choir announces its 20th Anniversary Season with its first concert of the 2015/16 season - - WINTER'S GIFTS: Celebration.
Reinventing tradition year after year, The Choral Project + San Jose Chamber Orchestra celebrate milestone anniversaries with live holiday music that honors wintry traditions from around the world.
"Winter's Gifts: Celebration" will feature jubilant repertoire that commemorates The Choral Project's 20th Season, and the San Jose Chamber Orchestra's 25th Season. This year's festive program features a world premiere commission by Richard Burchard, a new composition by conductor Daniel Hughes, as well as spectacular music by Healey Willan, Ennio Morricone, and Vaclav Nelhybel. A virtuoso percussion ensemble will add to the evening's celebration.
Conductors Barbara Day Turner and Daniel Hughes collaborate to create this very special concert, which has become a Bay Area holiday tradition in the breathtaking acoustics of Mission Santa Clara de Asis and the beautiful sanctuary of First Presbyterian Church in Palo Alto.
