Private Collections, now in its 16th edition, offers a unique opportunity to tour the homes and art of seven prestigious art collectors in San Francisco. Beyond the white walls of a gallery, the private tours provide exclusive access to collections not on view to the public and a deeper understanding of a collector's mind. This two-night benefit event starts on March 9 with the Masterpiece tour and continues with the main event featuring tours of six homes on March 16. Each evening is followed by a party that brings all 200+ guests together for a fun and elegant celebration.
The Masterpiece tour will visit Lenore Pereira and Richard Niles' collection dedicated to works by women artists. Their collection includes work by Louise Bourgeois, Kiki Smith, Sue Williams, Tracy Emin and Jenny Holzer as well as local and emerging artists. The collectors' three-story home of steel, glass, and concrete with exposed structural elements is a delight to visit. After the tour, all ticket holders are invited to the Launch Party at Stephanie Breitbard Fine Arts, the Jackson Square gallery that specializes in contemporary fine art.
The main event on March 16 allows ticket holders to choose from six collections to visit: Clare and Dan Carlevaro David Fraze and Gary Loeb Kate Harbin and Adam Clammer Ann Hatch and Paul Discoe Jessica Silverman and Kirsten Wolfe and Andrew Brown. The collections offer a breadth of genres, including contemporary prints, Bay Area Figurative works, photography, 20th century Modern masters and concept-driven art. After the tours, art enthusiasts come together for a party at Ascent Private Capital Management. Their stunning space has revolving exhibits and have included works by David Hockney, Jim Dine, Alex Katz, and Andy Warhol.
100% of net proceeds raised through Private Collections benefit Enterprise for High School Students, the San Francisco nonprofit that empowers and prepares young people for success in employment and higher education.
