February 20, 2016 two 45 minute shows at 9:30am and 11:00am
On Saturday, February 20, 2016 at 9:30 am and again at 11:00 am NVCM's Classical Kids presents the Trinity Alps Chamber Players at Noe Valley Ministry performing Rudyard Kipling's "Just So Stories," set to music by composer Danny Clay.
Two 45 minute shows repeat at 9:30am and 11:00am Doors open half an hour before each show.
Each performance lasts approximately 45 minutes, and is suitable for all ages. The performances are designed for preschool and elementary age children, with the earlier show geared more towards a younger audience and the 11:00am show geared towards slightly older children.
Coffee, tea and light snacks will be provided.
PROGRAM: Rudyard Kipling's "Just So Stories" set to Danny Clay's music performed by the Trinity Alps Chamber Players.
TICKETS are $10-$25 ($10 per person, $25 family pass for up to 4 people.)
The program will feature work for a chamber ensemble and narrator, and will be a setting of Rudyard Kipling's tales of animal origins, the "Just So Stories". With 6 instrumental performers (violin, cello, bass, flute, clarinet and piano) and a narrator, "Just So Stories" will feature each instrument taking a different animal or character in the stories, allowing children in the audience to follow the plot and understand the special sounds and nuances of each instrument. There will also be a "petting zoo" of the instruments after the performances.
This concert has been made possible thanks to the generous support of the San Francisco Arts Council. Additional support provided by Salesforce.org.
NVCM has been presenting superb chamber music in San Francisco since 1992. We encourage performers to talk informally about their music from the stage, allowing members of our community to experience outstanding concert performances in an informal, yet authentic chamber music tradition.
