Dada Here & Now Visual Art Symposium Part 3: Anti-Art Panel Discussion
"Anti Art then and Now" is a critical assessment of Dada as a protest movement with an anti-establishment manifesto that casts long shadows. Panelists John Held Jr and Jasper Patterson will examine the long history of anti art sentiments, movements and manifestations as related to today's generation of Dada-influenced creatives. The effect of Dada was to create a climate in which art was alive to the moment and not paralyzed by the traditions and restrictions of established values. By exploring the connections between successive movements with similar sentiments can we illuminate the enduring influence and relevance of Dada today?
The exhibit 'Dada Here & Now' is the featured visual art component of the 2016 SFIAF www.sfiaf.org
