"What do the Arts Mean to Me?" is the kickoff concept, inviting young and the not-so-young to give creative ideas, drawings, cutouts and more to professional Mobile Sculptor Kevin Reese, who will later lead workshops to actually sculpt the parts to create the final art. The Kinetic Mobiles, similar in aesthetic to the works of Alexander Calder, will then be balanced and suspended in the two cutouts in the Bankhead Theater, visible from both floors.
Participate in the design process at the Bothwell's First Annual Art Expo on June 12th, where participants are welcome to choose from a variety of materials to express their ideas, 2466 8th Street, Livermore, from 10-5:00pm.
Admission to Art Expo is $10, children under 12 are free. No other fees are required for any workshop, demo or seminar.
The actual creation of the art will take place the week after Labor Day at the Bothwell Arts Center, with afternoon and evening workshops available.
