The on-demand economy touches millions of people already - estimates by Harvard Business Review estimate that Uber and Lyft alone carry 7.3 million passengers per month. JPMorgan Chase further estimates that 1% of working Americans derive income from the on-demand economy. TaskRabbit estimates that "taskers" on its platform can earn as much as $150,000 per year.
In this edition of our Innovation Salon series, a panel of investors, educators and analysts will discuss how to convert hours to dollars: opportunities in the on-demand economy how to raise the skills of those in the on-demand economy, and on-demand economy opportunities in the Japan market.
Speakers:
Tim Chang is the Managing Director of Mayfield Fund, and has invested in Lyft, HealthTap, Pillow, 99Designs and other on-demand services.
Angie Chang is Vice President of Hackbright Academy, which teaches women how to code and how to raise their skills for the knowledge economy.
Michi Kaifu is CEO of Enotech Consulting. She has written on the on-demand economy and consults to various companies in Japan.
