Info:
The Oakland Interfaith Community Choir (OICC), under the direction of Terrance Kelly, will perform a selection of gospel standards and spirituals. The event will feature guest performers Ja Ronn and Flow and soloists Reginald Finley and Tamara Edwards. Host: Patrick Landeza. Founded in September 2013, the OICC is over 75 members strong. The Oakland Interfaith Community choir is the latest addition to the Oakland Interfaith Gospel Choir family. They recently returned their first performance tour to Arcata and in addition to their own performances, have joined OIGC on stage at the Historic Paramount Theatre in Oakland and at the Annual Spring Musicals.
In 2013, founder and director of both the SFSU Gospel Choir and Gospel Gators Foundation, Ja Ronn Thompson, was given the vision to assemble a vocal ensemble that would cross the thresholds of art, culture, and genre. Ja Ronn & The Faithful Levites of Worship (FLOW) was born! After hand-picking vocalists (each a force in their own right), Ja Ronn & the FLOW began to embark on a creative journey that would present them with the opportunities to perform for and with the likes of acclaimed filmmaker George Lucas international, diamond-selling rock band Journey and renowned tenor Josh Groban.
Born and raised in Oakland, Tamara Edwards has been a vocalist with such Bay Area greats as the Messengers of Hope, Derrick Hall & Company, and Robin Hodge Williams.
Reginald V. Finley has shared his vocal talents on stage with such gospel pioneers as the late Rev. James Cleveland, The Queen of Gospel, Albertina Walker, Bishop Yvette Flunder, Deloris Barrett Campbell and The Barrett Sisters, Sarah Jordan- Powell, Twinkie Clark and many others.
