Info:
The San Francisco Bay Area community is invited to celebrate the grand opening of the Dr. George W. Davis Senior Center and Residence located at 1751 Carroll Avenue at Third Street in San Francisco, on Saturday, June 25th. The program and ribbon cutting ceremony will begin at 11am, followed by center tours, refreshments and entertainment from 12pm -3pm.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony, hosted by the board of directors, will begin at 11 a.m. at 1751 Carroll Avenue, in San Francisco. Former Mayor Willie Brown, current Mayor Ed Lee, Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi and other distinguished city and state officials are expected to be in attendance. The agency will offer tours of the buildings and an array of commemorative items will be available.
This newly constructed 26,000 square foot building is the vision of the long-term executive director of Bayview Senior Services, the late Dr. George W. Davis. It includes 121 units of affordable housing and a senior center that will enhance the quality of life for more than 2,000 senior citizens and persons with disabilities in San Francisco's Bayview Hunters Point community.
Under the guidance of the board of directors, Bayview Senior Services has been providing community-based comprehensive services for seniors for over 45 years. Through a network of senior centers, adult day health, case management and housing counseling, Bayview Senior Services addresses the critical needs of seniors through the context of neighborhood advocacy. Creating housing with supportive services represents the agency's commitment to helping seniors age - in place and with dignity - in their own community.
