The San Francisco Maritime National Park Association is proud to present the Women in Maritime Trades Panel Discussion. Join us in celebration of the National Park Service Centennial as we gather to hear stories from women who will share their experiences and accomplishments in maritime trades and in careers such as captains, officers and pilots. Complete with light refreshments, this in an evening you won't want to miss!
Panelists: Captain Maggie McDonogh: Owner and fourth generation captain of the Angel Island-Tiburon Ferry.
Captain Lynn Korwatch: Was in the first class of women to graduate from California Maritime Academy. She is the first woman to command a U.S. Commercial vessel. Captain Korwatch was even an answer on the game show Jeopardy!
Tammie Lasiter: A graduate of Cal Maritime in 94', Tammie Lasiter spent more than 17 years working with the Port of Oakland-SSA Terminals stevedoring for Matson Navigation. Currently she is working towards a masters in transportation from Cal Maritime Academy.
