SUMMARY The National Labor Relations Act (NLRA) applies to vast majority of private employers and provides employees with the right to organize and collectively bargain with their employers about wages and working conditions. Additionally, the NLRA prohibits employers from violating employee rights by engaging in any unfair labor practices.
Whether you work for a unionized employer or not, familiarizing yourself with the NLRA is critical - particularly given the National Labor Relations Board's (NLRB) recent actions and initiatives focusing on non-unionized workforces.
You'll leave this four-part eProgram ready to:
* Recognize how the NLRA impacts both unionized and non-unionized employers * Explain how the NLRA is enforced and the NLRB's current initiatives * Identify and rectify red flags in handbooks/policies to limit the risk of unfair labor practice charges
